چکیده
Abstract Purpose of Review Resistant hypertension (RH) is a major contributor to cardiovascular diseases and associated with increased all-cause mortality. Cardiac changes such as impaired left ventricular (LV) function, hypertrophy (LVH), myocardial fibrosis, enlarged atrium (LA) are consequences chronic exposure an elevated blood pressure. The purpose this review article demonstrate the potential benefits using STE non-invasive imaging technique in assessment cardiac remodeling patients specifically uncontrolled RH population. Recent Findings It well-recognized that conventional transthoracic echocardiography useful analytic modality evaluate hypertension-mediated organ damage (HMOD) resistant hypertensive More recently two-dimensional speckle tracking (STE) has been utilized provide further risk Summary data shown new promising echocardiographic marker early stage LV dysfunction fibrosis over 2D parameters diseases.

Myocardial contractility indices based on strain imaging
Background The principal determinants of chronic left ventricular (LV) dysfunction are reduced myocardial contractility and afterload excess due to adverse LV remodeling. To determine the relative contribution of each to a given instance of LV dysfunction, reliable quantitative indices of both myocardial contractility and afterload are needed. At the LV chamber level, ventricular volume and LV ...
متن کاملMyocardial Strain Imaging with Tagged MRI
A 4-D B-spline model has been created to accurately capture the dynamic motion of the heart from tagged magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enabling displacement field reconstruction of myocardial deformation. The 4-D model is allowed to deform based on the location of the tag lines for all frames within the constraints of the model’s spatiotemporal internal energy. From a displacement field, the ...
متن کاملQuantification of Regional Myocardial Function following Acute Myocardial Infarction by Ultrasonic Strain Rate and Strain Imaging
Objectives: The rapid diagnosis and early risk stratification of patients presenting with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is important. In experimental setting ultrasonic strain rate (SR) and strain (S) have been shown to identify changes in deformation predictive of ischemia. We sought to evaluate and compare regional myocardial function at “the risk zone” (ARZ) supplied by the culprit coron...
